Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.
Ronald Reagan
My husband and I braved -38 C weather last Tuesday and stood for 2.5 hours to catch a taste of freedom … and it was delicious. We were joined by thousands of others, just like us, tired of the nonsense and exhausted by the lies. It was the most incredible thing to see all those normal faces, all wanting the same thing we did: our country back.
It was so cold my camera froze, allowing for only a few pictures. Regardless of failed technology, these memories will be forever etched on my heart. Standing on a bridge with harsh winds, nothing mattered but catching a glimpse of the trucks.
It was sweet joy, a high hard to describe, a feeling of hope no one could steal. My husband wanted to follow the truckers, excited to be a part of something bigger than himself. I thought of going, too, but we didn’t have the transportation.
So instead, we watched and celebrated and cried and laughed in support. It was overwhelming. I tried to write a post but couldn’t find the words. The truckers gave us hope. The truckers were here to save us—the sound of horns like shofars blowing across the land, calling for change and righteous revival.
We donated money and joined groups with others, also watching as the truckers moved through Ontario and entered our capital city. On Saturday, we attended our first rally, another convoy just for our province. It was good to see all the faces, so many young, all knowledgeable about the lies. We were not alone after all.
Nothing can take away that sweet feeling of elation. I don’t know the government’s next move, but I know they don’t love that sweet aroma of liberty as we do. In fact, they hate it. Twenty-two months of control is hard to give up. So we watch and pray and watch some more. We can’t look away. We must never stop hoping.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope it was encouraging for you. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Please check out my latest book: a poetry chapbook focused on the effects of the lockdowns on our society. I wrote this book all last year as I watched the insanity of lockdowns wreak havoc around me.

You put that so well that I almost got caught up in it! Thank you for sharing. May God hear our plea for freedom and cessation of the governmental oppression of Canadians.
